Pastor Raymond Cabello was born and raised in Long Beach, California. In 2011, he moved to the St. Louis area to attend Missouri Baptist University, where he studied Music Education. His background in music has led to a wide range of performance and leadership opportunities throughout the St. Louis metro area. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Alton Symphony Orchestra in Illinois and has participated in numerous musical and artistic productions both on stage and behind the scenes across the region.
Alongside his work in music, Pastor Raymond has faithfully served in a variety of ministry roles throughout the St. Louis area, including youth, worship, and pastoral ministry. His ministry philosophy emphasizes a holistic approach to the Gospel—proclaiming Christ while encouraging the church to care for both the spiritual and practical needs of people in the community. He has a strong passion for missions, discipleship, and helping churches grow in health and mission. He is committed to fostering partnerships within the St. Louis Metro Area and beyond to facilitate Kingdom-building in both Christian and non-Christian spaces.
Pastor Raymond was licensed to ministry in 2012 at Amazing Love Community Church and was ordained in 2015 at First Baptist Church of St. Ann.
He currently serves as the Lead Pastor of Cross Keys Baptist Church in Florissant. Under his leadership, Cross Keys has focused on revitalizing the church, strengthening discipleship, and actively engaging the surrounding community through outreach and practical care ministries. These efforts reflect Pastor Raymond’s conviction that the church should be present, compassionate, and responsive to the real needs of its neighbors.
In addition to his pastoral role, he serves on the Church Strengthening Team for the St. Louis Metro Baptist Association and is a certified guide for the Malphurs Group Healthy Church Toolkit, a church revitalization strategy designed to help congregations grow stronger in vision, health, and mission.
Professionally, Pastor Raymond also teaches orchestra at an intermediate school in the Ferguson-Florissant School District, where he enjoys investing in the lives of students and cultivating a love for music in the next generation.
While attending Missouri Baptist University, Pastor Raymond met his wife, Emma. Together they are raising three children—Anita, Raymond Jr., and Freda—and are committed to serving both their church and their community.
