Pastor Jeff Wells came to Cross Keys Baptist Church in the Fall of 2007 after serving over 20 years in various ministry positions with an emphasis in Student Ministry and Evangelism.  After coming to Jesus Christ at the age of twelve, not having been raised in church, God gave Pastor Jeff a special passion for the lost and wanting to tell them the Good News that Jesus saves!

Pastor Jeff surrendered to the Gospel ministry at the young age of 18 and immediately enrolled at Missouri Baptist College where he initially majored in Religion but ultimately completed his degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Religion in the Spring of 1991.  God led him to continue his education at the University of Missouri, St. Louis where he graduated with a Masters Degree in Education in General Counseling in January of 1997. 

Pastor Jeff has served Churches in Missouri and Indiana. 

In 2000 God led Pastor Jeff to a unique missions ministry that he continues to be a part of to this day.  As of the summer of 2008, Pastor Jeff has been involved in the Olympic Ministry Outreach having participated in five Olympic outreaches including both Summer and Winter Games at various locations around the world.  To this day this is one of Pastor Jeff’s greatest joys in life – to share the Gospel with the world as it gathers for the Olympic Games. 

Pastor Jeff has been married to the love of his life, Kristine, since February of 1991.  They have one beautiful daughter, Bethany, who they have always considered to be their miracle baby from God.  They are now in the prayerful process of adding to their family by adopting a baby from China.

Ken Buss, Associate Pastor

 Pastor Ken Buss came to Cross Keys Baptist Church in the fall of 2004 as interim Youth Pastor.  Then in January of 2005 he became the full-time Youth Pastor.  Before coming to Cross Keys Baptist Church Pastor Ken was a member at Hazelwood Baptist Church in Hazelwood, Missouri, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, adult youth sponsor, and director of Upward Basketball & Cheerleading.  Pastor Ken graduated from SIU-Edwardsville with a major in Kinesiology and began to teach in Ferguson-Florissant School District as an Elementary Physical Education Teacher.  After teaching one year, Pastor Ken was led to go to Covenant Seminary to seek and complete a Masters Degree in Theological Studies in May of 2004. 

Pastor Ken has been married to his lovely wife, Tara, for three years since July of 2005.  This year they have been blessed by God with their daughter Bailey, their first and so far their only child.

Cliff Day, Worship Pastor

 Pastor Cliff Day was born in Springfield, Missouri. He earned a Bachelor of Science from College of the Ozarks, a Master of Divinity from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is currently a trustee of Lifeway Christian Resources serving his second term.   

 Pastor Cliff was saved when he was 12 years old.  It was not long before he started preaching and playing Bluegrass with his family in local churches.   He has served as a Pastor for various sized churches for 21 years.     Throughout his years as a Senior Pastor, he was led to help revitalize declining churches and the Lord blessed those churches.  He is currently serving as a full time Campus Pastor and Bible Teacher at Living Word Christian High School.    

Pastor Cliff has been married to the love of his life for 21 years, Jennifer.  Jennifer is currently studying for her Bachelors of Nursing. Cliff and Jennifer are blessed with a great son, Daniel who attends High School and is preparing to be a Worship leader.   His family has faithfully served Jesus Christ and is active in every church they pastor. 

One of Pastor Cliff’s favorite verses comes from I John 3. “See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.  The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.  Beloved, we are God’s Children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like him, because we shall see Him as He is.”  Praise the Lord we are adopted!  We are One with Him, and have a loving relationship with the Father that will completely change us into His image, ultimately when we see Him face to face.  Cliff, Jennifer, and Daniel have served at Cross Keys since August of 2010.  They have been a vital part in leading the music and worship at Cross Keys.

Kate Church, Administrative Assistant

Kate is the newest member on staff at Cross Keys Baptist Church.  She has been a Christian since the 70’s Jesus Movement serving in ministry to outlaw bikers, and Christians that have fallen through the cracks needing encouragement. Kate is happily married 29 years, the mother of four and Grandma of 3.

Kathy has been a secretary for Cross Keys Baptist Church since May 1995 and an active member since 1982.  She is married and has 3 daughters, a son-in-law and 4 grandchildren. Kathy loves the Lord and always tries to be helpful to everyone.
